What is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is a service online that can provide stats and tools  for SEO and marketing. It is also free to anyone, if you have a google account. Google Analytics is essential when trying to figure out user traffic, tracking purchases, and discovering trends in engagement. It uses page tags, it is in the browser of all visitors and collects the data then sends it to the Google Analytics page.

What kind of metrics does it use?

Google Analytics uses up to 200 different metrics to track performance for users. A popular one is bounce rate, this shows the percentage of visitors that only viewed a single page. Next, you could use average session duration, this shows how long on average each visitor stays on your site. After this, you can use percentage of new sessions, by using this it will show the percentage of visits on the websites that are first-time visits.

Benefits of Google Analytics

There are many benefits of this service, for one its free and fairly easy to use. Since its free, it appeals to many people for its broad services. Speaking of its many services, it offers so many customizable features for them to meet whatever needs they have. It also just came out with Google Analytics 4, a newly updated version which came out in October of 202o. I think this also appeals to users showing they are consistent with updates.
