When I first began at college, my major was Digital Analytics and Marketing. I thought it would be perfect for me. I knew it involved numbers and seemed enjoyable. When I finished my first semester of in major courses, I discovered 2 things. The first was what digital analytics actually meant and the second being that it wasn’t the major for me. If you think it might be the major for you, maybe this post can help you in some way get a quick grasp on the topic.
igital Analytics is the way or process that data is gathered. This can be from basic websites, apps, or anything else that is online. This information can then be used by companies to improve the customer experience in numerous ways as well as boost the success of the company.

The best way I can interpret this is relating it to Netflix. I’m unsure about you, but at least once a month Netflix suggests one of their many brand new shows for me with a stat says “97% Match”. Some of my favorite shows have came from suggestions from Netflix themselves and by looking at just the cover, I never would’ve chosen to watch that show. Thanks to Netflix using all of their data they have on me, they’ve gotten me to watch I feel like almost everyone of their shows and each time they’re all great. This is exactly what digital analytics is. Netflix is using all of their information on me the customer, and improving my experience as well as improving their business by these suggestions.
