This week in Digital Marketing Dr. Liska taught us a very cool trick that I had no idea existed. You can prank your friends with coding. By hitting either F12 or Ctrl-Shift-I, you can alter the website you are visiting to change the content of it.

When you press F12 or Ctrl-Shift-I, you access the developer tools for a website. After accessing the developer tools, then inspect the website. You can alter headings, the body, font size, color and many more aspects of the website through the coding aspect of websites. We also learned that in order to run an effective website, you must have a secure server on the company side, that way the changes people make when doing it on the consumer end don’t actually change your website.

The prank involves using the tactics discussed earlier in the blog on your online banking information. You can go to your banking website, sign in and go to your accounts. Access the developer tools and alter the numbers on your accounts. Then show your friends that you have $10,567,989.96 and watch their reactions!
