The SMART goal plan is a great way to center thoughts and establish a true goal. SMART stands for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely. Each step is to evaluate the strengthen on a goal and determine if it is achievable or not.

Specific

The specific characteristics of the goal. An example would be being the first site to show up on the search engine when specific keywords are searched.

Is the goal measurable? What is the rank of the website currently? Can the outcome change? Can the change be measured?

Measurable

Attainable

Is the goal attainable despite the competitive environment or time frame?

Is the goal for the success?

Relevant

Timely

Timely Did you allow enough time for the goal? Does it push for success in a timely matter?

Once a goal has passed every letter, the next step is to develop a plan to achieve the goal. The SMART goal technique can be used to elevate SEO (search engine optimization). Some things to think about when trying create a goal to elevate SEO are keywords, website optimization, and linking.
