Over the course of the last few classes, we have discussed different aspects of search engine optimization and how different companies have enhanced viewership using these aspects. In this blog, I will be discussing how Keywords can provide advantages in search engine optimization.
Keywords
In my opinion, keywords are the most important aspect when trying to enhance the number of people viewing your website. The keywords a website uses must be relevant, generate traffic, and have low competition.
Relevance
In order for keywords to be relevant, they must accurately relate to the products or services a website is trying to sell. If the website is not being used to try and sell something the keywords should still be related to the content on the website.
Generating Traffic
The best way to generate traffic with a keyword is by using specific words that potential viewers will actually look up in a search bar. Google autocomplete is an effective way to see what people are searching when looking up certain words so you know what keywords to add.
Low Competition
Trying to find keywords with low competition can be difficult as there are a lot of big companies. To get ahead of these big companies websites can use Long-tail keywords (multi-word phrases) and Fat head keywords (One core term as a keyword).
