What Makes a Website “Effective”

An effective website design should fulfill its intended function by conveying its particular message whilst simultaneously engaging the visitor. Several factors such as consistency, colors, typography, imagery, simplicity and functionality all contribute to good website design.

Cooperate Design

It’s hard to define design. … For a good corporate design, we need to be aware of two main elements, which can be further broken down into a total of seven “ingredients”: design, as in artistic representation (logo, typography, colors), and. design strategy (brand, quality, community, culture). Corporate design is usually more simple than other types of design It wants to convey a message of a strong solid brand so they wont do too much to make their websites seem “loud.”

Imagery

It is a good idea to include pictures on your website. Good quality website imagery has the ability to grab our attention, trigger emotion and even compel us to take action. As an agency working with clients of all shapes and sizes, we know from experience that not all organizations have access to original images that reflect their brand and values. With that being said, you want to use the highest resolution images you can find to make the website really pop.

Consistency

Design consistency is the act of keeping all of the repeating elements of your website the same throughout the entire site. This encompasses everything from the placement of buttons and icons to the colors and fonts you use. While this seems easy enough to achieve, it is another one of those examples in life where it is much easier said than done.

Elements of your website that are perceived the same way make up visual consistency. Visual consistency helps the user learn the website. Fonts, buttons, photos, and colors are just a few of the many elements of visual consistency. These elements need to stay the same throughout your site. Visual consistency is lost as soon one of these elements doesn’t remain consistent throughout your site.
