ChatBots or Robots?

286

We’ve all spent more money than we should have online shopping… But what’s the most annoying thing about it? To me, it’s the chatbots that pop up every time you enter a new website.

These chatbots usually never have anything helpful to say and won’t answer your questions the way you want them to. But why do so many websites use them?

There have been many surveys conducted on this subject, and each one found some interesting information about the chatbots. It’s thought that chatbots will power 85% of customer service by 2020.

That’s less than one month away… One thing to note about chatbots powering customer service is the fact that they are AI-based technology, AKA robots. These chatbots are not real people and it’s very easy to tell.

Why use them? What are the benefits?

Some top benefits include:

  • 24 hour service
  • Instant responses to inquiries
  • Answers to simple questions
  • By 2020, businesses will be able to save over $8 billion through the use of these chatbots

  1. Alicia,

I completely agree that chatbots are annoying and can seem unuseful and unhelpful. Very interesting that you pointed out the benefits because though I have to engage with them at times to get help I never thought about the positives they may bring.
