S.M.A.R.T goals could set you apart from the pack

Proper goal setting is something that isn’t always done correctly that can have a significant impact on your success in a professional industry. If you goal setting isn’t achieved it could lead to a feeling of sorrow which leads to the importance of setting S.M.A.R.T goals.

S – Specific, Your goal needs to be specific in the sense that you need to highlight what exactly you want to achieve but also the ways or steps that your are going to take in order to achieve this goal.

M – Measurable, You’r goal needs to have a measurable variable in order for you to realize if you were truly successful. For example setting a goal of obtaining 200 new page views in the next month gives you a measurable variable to determine if you reached your goal.

A – Attainable, It is important that your setting goals that are realistically accomplishable in order for you to continue making progress and setting new goals for you to achieve.

R – Relevant, This essentially means that your goals, once completed, will lead to you gaining something, wether it be a promotion or a becoming better in a certain field of work you need to be sure that your goal will lead to the desired outcome.

T – Timely, This is important because a goal with no time limit almost defeats the point of setting one in the first place. If you spend to long trying to complete the same goal it may no longer be relevant or beneficial to you so setting a goal with a desired time of completion is very important.

    I liked your tittle it is eye catching! Apart from that i think you explained each word perfectly which I enjoyed reading.

  2. I enjoy that the approach you took to SMART was in a career driven light. As students, we should remember that as we set goals, the way that we structure them can affect our entire career. Your content is great, but I would have enjoyed if you bolded the letters of the acronym so we could really see them.
