Social Media Plan

201

When we look how a social media plan is structured we can immediately see how each step lays out the ground work for an effective strategy. The plan is composed of determining the objectives, planning the content, distributing content, and the measure of success. When we follow these steps it becomes easier to see what companies should be posting.

To start, we look at determining objectives. With this we should be increasing the consumer’s positive mental associations with the brand. In my experience with working at Orange Theory Fitness, we want to promote the brand not only to the members but also to the prospects or people who haven’t heard about us. How we capture the attention through our post is to use engaging, fundamental, and funny posts.

When we think about what to post, we sit down and have a content plan meeting. This meeting will help us plan what type of post we want to make each day between promotional, educational, engaging, humorous, etc. At Orange Theory, our regional social media director sits down with all of us to determine what posts will go out on certain days that way we aren’t repetitive. As you can see below this is what a normal month looks like for the content creators at OTF.

With distributing this content Orange Theory has a few different ways to show it. One we have the use of Instagram and Facebook, the other would be or website. When distributing content we want to make sure that we are increasing fans and followers with the use of posting at the right times and CTA’s or raffles. After you distribute the content you would most likely want to measure the success that it is having.

When measuring the success of the content that is distributed key things to look for are the engagement as well as the volume of people who see or interact with the post. How we can calculate these factor would be through the insights tool on instagram and facebook. On Instagram the insight display shows multiple factors such as how many likes, comments, profile visits, and people reached.

  1. This was a very detailed plan of social media strategy. It has great detail and breaks down a concept in an easy to understand way. Maybe try to break up your text with paragraphs or color. Other than that, good blog post!
