SEM, PPC, CPM?

Hey guys! Today we’re going to be talking about SEM, more specifically about PPC vs CPM. now you’re probably thinking what the heck do all those acronyms mean? Well, let me start by breaking that down:

SEM: Search Engine Marketing.

PPC: Pay Per Click.

CPM: Cost Per Mille (one thousand).

So basically, SEM is paying for Google to show your website at the top or pretty close to the top of peoples searches based on key words. When doing this there are two different ways to pay for it: pay per click or cost per mille. When using cost per click it is exactly how it sounds. You pay only when your link is clicked on but not when it is only viewed. With cost per mille you pay for every 1,000 views to your link, even if not one person clicked on it. Now you may be wondering which is better? Well, both are pretty good options in my opinion but I do think that PPC can save you money and here’s why. The amount of people that see your ad and the amount of people that actually click on it is a drastically different number. Therefore, sometimes it is better to use PPC rather than CPM.

  1. I liked that you used your own voice on your post, it becomes a bit monotonous when everybody has the same sort of post and same sort of thumbnail. Listen here, Brooke; they’re Hallmark movies, you’re that great movie you find on Netflix that has the French title. You’re adding a little seasoning in here, giving it a little spice. In the same way a Golden Retriever is a common dog but is boundlessly entertaining, your information might be the same as what others have, but the way you deliver it is way more fun. Boom, nailed that comment.

  2. I loved the intro of this blog! It was refreshing to read a different into where you used your personality to start it off.
