PPC vs CPM

SEM (Search Engine Marketing)

Is one of the many forms of online marketing, which their main focus is to get people to visit their website by appearing more on the search engine result.

PPC (Pay Per Click)

  • It is the method to drive traffic to your website
  • The advertiser pays per click and not by the impressions given
  • It is mostly used as a search engine
  • It is measured by the results of CPM

CPM (Cost Per Mille)

  • Substitute of PPC
  • A different type of advertisement where the advertiser pays per 1,000 impressions
  • It is measured by looking at the number of impressions
  • Impressions = a view by a visitor

WHAT SHOULD YOUR COMPANY USE?

It all depends on what your company looking for and most importantly on what their budget is. PPC would work for a company that has a higher budget and wants to have more visitors on their website. On the other hand, CPM is for a company with less budget and for a company that wants to be seen or heard. The best way to know which would be the perfect fit for your company would be by testing each and deciding which works best with what you are looking for.

  1. Andrea, I enjoyed the visuals throughout your blog. Your paragraphs were concise, which is great! My only recommendation would be to ensure that your blog flows a little more smoothly with the use of transitions from paragraph to paragraph.

  2. Good job on this blog, Andrea! It was very informative and straight to the point. I loved the cleanliness of it and the use of icons as well. I would recommend bolding the headings of each section so readers can better classify them and can be more appealing to the eye. Besides that, I think it’s great!
