PPC and CPM are both types of advertising that a business can use in order to quantify the payment of promoting the ad. Both serve the same function but calculate advertising costs differently. Neither one promotes the ad better than the other, but it does determine how much you should spend depending on the efficiency of your offer. Most of the time, the choice boils down to what type of advertising you are doing.
PPC
Pay Per Click (PPC) is where advertisers are charged every time a visitor clicks on the advertisement. Most of the time this method is a bidding process between businesses and what they are willing to pay. It is measured by the “cost per click” or CPC. PPC is the most popular methods used by advertisers, as it truly is paying for exactly what you want instead of relying on impressions. Although, if your bid price isn’t relatively high, it could mean bad placement of your ad.
CPM
CPM, or Cost per Mille, is another advertising method in which the advertiser pays per 1000 impressions on their ad. “Impression” is a fancy way of saying “a view”. In my opinion, this isn’t nearly as effective as PPC, but it is cheaper in most cases. Anyone could “view” the add just breezing past it. Plus, bots and even repeat visitors that are uninterested can run the impressions up, costing you more than it should.
First off, let me be frank; Ali bomaye. Secondly, I appreciate your writing style. You bounce in and out of specificities, giving general views then providing in-depth information on each point- floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee if you will. That being said, I thought your post could’ve been really fun to read if you emphasized the whole boxing theme, if not Ali specifically. I fell for the feinted jab, but you didn’t hit me with the celtic cross like you could have. You roped the dope, had him on the ropes, but ended up not wanting the smoke. Still dope.
I just want to say I was about to use this same image but saw yours first. I love this idea of a boxing match between PPC and CPM. Your information is nicely organized and easy to read.
