One of the topics I really enjoyed learning about was the strategy behind building a company website to attract the target market. I always thought all websites were just built to look attractive, so it was really fascinating to me to learn the many variables that go into designing a user specific site. Knowing your target market, understanding their specific needs, then using this information to create the user-friendly experience.

It is essential for businesses to have a cohesive website in order to display their information, products/services to their customers, but depending on the type of business each website can be very different. There are many factors critical to having a successful website, which if implemented correctly can greatly affect the success for the company.

Before making the company website, it is important to identify the target market so the business can properly cater to their specific needs. For example, if your customers are older than it would be best to use big font so it will be easier for them to see and simple navigation since they tend to have trouble using technology in general. On the other hand, if your customers are on the younger side it may be in the company’s best interest to use more pictures and less words so users can get through the website quicker since they have a shorter attention span. Making the website compatible to the consumers’ needs enhances the user experience, resulting in longer amounts of time spent on the website and increased chances that they will purchase the products/service

  1. Hi kelly,
I had some of the same ideas as you in my blog post about target marketing. The way websites change the sizes of their font or the amount of spacing in between lines is super interesting. I think that the more time spent analyzing what the target audience wants will help the company succeed. All around great points!
