You might ask yourself, who cares about having a web design that is consistent if what matters the most is the content it provides. Well my friend, you might be a little wrong. Maybe a lot actually.
When a potential customer visits your website, they are judging your company based on the quality of the website you are showcasing. According to a study abroad about Health Websites titled, Trust and Mistrustt of Online Health Sites, 15 participants were tested in order to answer the following question:
“How much impact does design have on trust and mistrust of health websites, and how much impact does the quality of the content have?”
The participants were asked to navigate the Internet for health information that they were interested in. After, they were asked to discuss their first thoughts on the websites they visited. Surprisingly, from all the factors mentioned by the participants, 96% were design related, while only 4% were content related.
It is necessary to understand that when your company goes online, your website is the company’s voice and image you are showing to the world. It should speak for itself. It is the look and the feel of the website what makes of the customer experience a great one.
Think of it as the first impression. We all want to give a great first impression because it is the make or break of ourselves and our relationships. In this case, our website design. We want to give a positive experience to our costumer and help them remember us this way. Positive.

Does Good Web Design Really Matter?

Natalia,
I like that you chose to discuss how to create an effective website AND explain why it matters. Often we know we need to do things but we’re not always sure why. The use of the study, which claimed 94% of participants cared more about design than content, was a great explanation for why businesses should put time and effort into their websites. I also enjoyed your use of both paragraphs and bullet points, as the bullet points were a great way to summarize principles and key points.
Hi Natalia,
I like that you included references and statistical data to back up your points. I also like the tone you use, it’s easy to read and understand and has a good flow. I did notice some typos and grammatical errors which should be addressed. I would also break up the article with more pictures, rather than just a large paragraph.
