My favorite topic in this module about search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) was how SMART goals can be applied when a business is trying to increase their ranking on search engines. SMART goals are a way to measure the success of marketing efforts, this case being a website’s ranking in a google search. SMART goals are goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely. By ensuring that there are goals that can be specifically measured in a specific amount of time and are relevant, achieving a higher SEO ranking becomes achievable and manageable.
