Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is so fascinating to me. It’s this big middle school playground where millions of people compete for your attention, with the rich kids (usually) coming out on top. It reminds me a lot of gaming, where people attempt to optimize their builds to create the most probable chance of victory, and swear by their strategies. But I’m getting ahead of myself, what is SEO?

SEO is the art of appearing on people’s screens when they’re looking for what you have to offer. There are a billion ways to do it, the primary one simply being a good website that people are trying to get to. There have been so many funny strategies to cheat SEO, but nothing beats authenticity, especially for Google.
I like SEO because of how creative it can be. In order to win over the search bar, you must think outside the box to truly target the right people. A good company can do this, making their website contain all the right words to tickle the fancy of their demographic. It’s like a hidden contest over who can be the most hospitable, and once you start noticing it, discovering little details is like finding Easter eggs in spring. It’s cool how much is happening behind the scenes while we all simply enjoy the sites we visit, and that’s why I find myself interested in the topic.
