User Experience (UX) Design is the process that designers use when building websites and other products for the consumer. This is in my opinion one of the most important aspects of the process of building anything. The experience that the user receives and experiences has to be just right for them. It needs to be the perfect fit and not over the top.
In class we went over the example of American Fish Taxidermy. We discussed and was shown his first webpage from years ago that the business was launched and built with. It was a very simple website with easy to navigate links and text that was built in Dreamweaver. We then seen his second website which looks a lot like some of the Squarespace default basic web templates you see on websites today. Our professor noted that with this website because it didn’t appeal to what the consumer wanted, ultimately their sales suffered. Today they have an amazing website that fits exactly what their users want. It appeals and speaks to them just like a website should.
