Social Media Myths
Social Media is Free
Many people assume this because social media is free for users to have an account, however marketing on social media is not free. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter costs a lot of money to run so the owners of the platforms charge marketers to promote on their platforms.
Good Social Media Must Go “Viral”
A social media post does not need to go viral in order to be effective or reach a lot of people. You can still reach as many people as possible without your post going “viral” as long as you set realistic goals for yourself and achieve them.
Good Social Media Must Reach Millions of People
This is very similar to the previous myth. Reaching millions of people is not the determining factor of whether a post is good or not. As long as you are reaching intended goals and doing so effectively then you can have good social media.
