RAINY DAY? SURF THE INTERNET AWAY!
– Tracking the location of internet surfers and evaluating the weather based on your location can determine whether or not an advertisement will show up. Some ads are designed only to pop up if it is raining in your location.

This is something that stood out to me during the class lectures on effective websites. I’m familiar with SOE (Search Engine Optimization), however, it never crossed my mind that advertisements could filter all the way down to the weather conditions of your current location. When you think about it, it makes sense that the average person would be more likely to use electronics and technology on a day where they are stuck inside the house due to bad weather conditions. So, advertisements can be queued to appear on a user’s screen when the forecast shows heavy rain, storms, or even snow. Of course, this can be used for any weather, but because research shows that people are more likely to use the internet on a rainy day, a smart marketing strategy would be to pay for an advertisement that only shows up on a rainy day.
Nice and simple, I like it.
I love the set up and design of this post. Good Job!
