  1. Determine the Objective

      • What are the goals of this plan?
      • Examples:
          1. Increase brand loyalty
          2. Encourage more purchases by current and potential customer
          3. Increase customer engagement
  2. Plan the Content

      • Figure out what your brand is representing.
      • Creating social media content is providing Value through:
          1. Humor/Different Emotions
          2. Deals/Discounts
          3. Product Updates
  3. Distributing and Promoting Content

      • Used to increase fans/followers
      • How do you want to share your content?
          1. Organically
          2. Through the website
          3. Contests/Drawings
          4. In-person
          5. Events
      • Paid
          1. Advertising
      • STEPPS
          1. Social Currency – Self-enhancement and Identity-signaling (products that makes people look good.)
          2. Triggers – Reminding consumers of the product
          3. Emotion – Connecting the product with a strong emotion leads to sharing (People tend to share things that touch them emotionally.)
          4. Public – Social proof: consumer’s decisions are affected by what everyone else is doing
          5. Practical Value – Seeking advice: consumers look for content that is actually useful/helpful (ex. life hacks)
          6. Stories – People tend to communicate through stories (Create a story and make the product a relevant part.)
  4. Measuring Success

      • How to measure the success of the social media plan?
          1. Volume/Acquisition (Ex. Total number of likes / follows)
          2. Engagement (Ex. Impressions / views)
          3. Conversions (users who purchased a product/total # of users seeing the content x 100)
