Social Media can be intimidating for any new business without a specialist or designated social media marketer. Social Media Marketing can be very important in helping a new business take off or an existing business grow. To simplify things here is a short listĀ of things to consider when taking on a new social media campaign:

  1. Determine The Objective- Is your campaign going to focus on brand building or selling products?
  2. Plan the content- Are you going to offer limited time deals? Or give-aways? You can also use humor and useful ideas or practices to gather interest. Another good way to get cheap content would be product updates and insider knowledge.
  3. Content Distribution- Either organic content on your website or social pages, or paid advertising on social sites.
  4. Measure Success-
    1. Volume/Acquisition-
      1. Total number of followers/likes
      2. Number of new followers/likes
      3. Numbers of lost followers/likes
    2. Engagement-
      1. Impressions/Views
      2. Re-Posts/shares/retweets/pins/likes/comments
      3. Click-Through-Rate and Engagement Rate
    3. ConversionRate- Number of people who purchased/Number of people reached by content/people
