Digital Marketers follow a 3+1 model which includes, 3 languages and 1 database. There are multiple approaches to executing the model, like column, multi-row, and a couple translation table methods. All these approaches take time getting used to, each having their own advantages and disadvantages. Just as with languages and databases, there are certain situations where one might work better than the other.

Languages

  1. HTML 5- The 5th version of HTML, which is the most basic form of coding for a website. Mostly used for structuring information and other features. It still allows the user to place images, videos, or other forms of media that can be made interactive.
  2. CCS 3- Cascading Style System is used for adding style to a website in the form of colors, fonts, and use of spaces. Other than these basic functions, CSS 3 includes selectors and classes used in coding organization.
  3. JavaScript- At the core of many websites used by top companies. A language based on logic and used in a lot of web browsers.

Databases

  1. MySQL- Database that uses Structured Query Language which assists in dealing with information inside the file. Free to use and employed by quite a few social media platforms.
  2. XML- Can be compared to HTML in operation.
  3. Oracle- Multi-model database, mostly used for online shopping or transactions.

Websites should vary depending on your target market. It is essential that you understand what you are selling and who you are selling it to. Sometimes a “less attractive” website might bring in more traffic or lead to more sales. So the quality of your website could be uncorrelated to your success.
