Keywords:
Keywords are an extremely important part of SEO, people mostly look-up keyword while browsing the web to find what they are looking for. The first factor you must look at when picking keywords is the relevance towards your webpage, they should directly correlate to what is on your website, and secondly should represent the products and services that are offered.
The next important step when choosing keywords is researching the keywords. You want to look at some of the relevant words that you brainstormed during the last step and plug them into google trend. Here you can see the amount of search traffic this keyword brings on google. Another great way of looking form high traffic words is the autocomplete in google, they are able to predict searches due to a lot of searches to those keywords
Next you want to analyze the keywords you looked at in google trends and choose some relevant keywords that do not have high traffic. The reason we look for keywords with lower traffic is because bigger companies already have priority with these keywords. You should look to use multi word phrases (Long-tail keyword) that are relevant and unique to your website, these most often have lower search traffic and are not crowded with big companies.
Lastly we need to make sure pages are optimized with certain keywords. With you website you want to spread out your keywords to different pages that are part of your website as a whole. This is important as google ranks induvial pages instead of a website as a whole. Ideally you want to focus in on a couple of keywords on one page, this avoids what is called Cannibalization which means you have multiple pages using the same keyword, ultimately you end up competing with yourself rather than other webpages.
With these tips you should be able to grow your SEO with keywords in no time!
