I was born and raised in the city of Radford, Virginia and never thought about activities to do with my friends and family until I went on a beach trip in the spring of 2019. I was mind blown by the amount of things we could in ONE city- So coming back home to Radford, I realized “Wow, this is lame.” LOL.
Needless to say, I was super stoked about the news that the NRV area started constructing an adventure park. This is not just and outdoor adventure park, but it also has a building next to it filled with activities to do during the colder season. If you live in South West Virginia, you most likely know about the weather here haha.
I’m not going to lie. I was slightly skeptical about this idea. Radford is a very small town, mainly known for it’s University. I have seen businesses come and go my whole life simply because no one was showing up to support them. My guess was that this park would do really well the first few weeks, maybe months, and then crash- just like every other small business around here. However, with that being said, I do not see this place hitting rock bottom any time soon.
As I mentioned in a previous statement, NRV Family Adventure is not just and outdoor park where you can zip line, throw axes, and play laser tag. Their indoor space is filled with arcades, bumper cars, and indoor laser tag. They also have an awesome hangout spot for eating, watching sports, and just socialize with your peers and family members. This is very convenient for parents who are waiting for their kids to run out of energy.
I hope and believe their business continues to grow together with our community. This just adds on to why students should apply to Radford University ;).
