The internet is apart of our everyday lives and is used and consumed by over 65% of the human population on earth, that is approximately 5.25 billion people. We all know how to use the internet but not many of us know how it all works. At its core, the internet is essentially a bunch of wires underground connecting everything together. To be more specific, it all starts of with an everyday computer, it could be the one you use at home or the one I am typing on right now. Our computers are called “clients” and are linked indirectly to internet service providers, these “ISP’s” then link you to the servers website which allows you to view the websites information. When this information is being sent, the data is split into packets and then reassembled into a picture, email, website, exc, when it reaches its final destination. Routers are used to help data reach its destination without it accidently traveling to places it shouldn’t be. Imagine routers as a traffic guard, helping the flow of traffic and acting as a guide for the drivers to help them know where to go!
