Elliot’s Use of SEO & SEM
Elliot’s Military Surplus and Fishing tackle is located at 2114 W Main St, Radford, V.A. 24141. The owner of the store does only instore sales. She also uses a manual system to keep count of her product and inventory. So can you guess what is about to come next? YES! She has no website. She has explained to her customers before, “They want me to pay for everything and I do not understand.” She is talking about the use of SEM. In which absolutely none is used. On the other hand, her SEO is decent. I believe because it is free. When searching keywords in a Google search bar, “fishing”, “military surplus”, “tackle”, and “fishing tackle near me”. All of these work for this area and she rates highly against local competition within a 30 mile radius. For an old school business owner, she has some work to do, but not to bad!
Suggestions
- Create a website for online shopping to increase sales
- Have email marketing/email list to offer special deals and inform customers
- Have correct hours posted on Google so people who may live a fair distance from the stores location not show up when closed.
- Purchase a “Zebra” subscription and inventory system to keep up with the shelf life of product and product count
