Why is Digital Analytics important for marketers?

Being able to understand the terminology for digital analytics is the first step to running a successful webpage. Knowing keywords such as click-through rate, bounce rate, and the number of viewers on the webpage is important. These three keywords are in my opinion the easiest to understand.

The first keyword, click-through rate, is the number of users that clicked on a hyperlink that was attached to a form of advertisement. This is important for marketers because it gives a number of how many viewers interacted with the advertisement and followed through to the webpage.

The second keyword, bounce rate, is referred to as how long did the user stay on the webpage. This is important for marketers because it shows a time duration of seconds to minutes. Knowing this information marketers can change the appearance of a webpage or call to action tabs, allowing the consumers to find exactly what they came to the site for.

The third keyword is the number of viewers which is how many users went to the webpage. This is extremely important for marketers because it provides data for how Google could possibly rank them. Being able to track the total number of users on a webpage is in my opinion the most important tool for marketers–not only for Google’s ranking system but how effective the webpages SEO/SEM is.

Overall, digital analytics is very important for marketers and non-business related webpages.
