Over the week this week in Digital Marketing, we learned how coding is effective for digital marketing students and important when building a website. I learned that there is a certain way of coding websites, and it is done by using a step-by-step process. Step 1 is to provide a host for the website where Step 2 domain registration which was interesting to see how complicated it is to have your own website. In domain registration, I found it interesting how people will buy certain domains that they think could be popular in hopes to sell these domains later on. Step 3 involves building the website and Step 4 is using “PUT” files.
Another interesting inference I learned about coding for digital marketing is how PUT files work. These files contain the 3 foundational elements and languages to manage PUT files. Structure is involved with the websites HTML5, followed by Style that is called CSS3, finishing with Logic that is JavaScript. All 3 of these foundations are important to the domain and PUT files and all shape how a website looks, works, and is developed.
The last interesting topic we focused on was internet databases and how we can look at a certain product on a website and breakdown the certain databases and where they are located and what they pertain. Product is involved with name, price and image. Customer involves first name and last name of the buyer; Item focuses on the quantity and invoice focuses on customer ID and invoice date. Although difficult to understand, coding is pivotal to know for building a website and your image.
