In this blog, I will be discussing the different aspects of the four different goal types we discussed in class (Destination, Duration, Pages/Screens per session, Event).
Destination

- Measures conversions used by retail or lead generation
- A page on your website that users see when users complete an activity
- A specific location loads
- Example: Thank you for registering or thank you for signing up”
Duration

- Measures engagement
- Time on site goal is triggered when a user’s time on a site is below or above a specific threshold
- Example: Spend more than 10 minutes on the site or spend less than 30 minutes on a site”
Pages/screens per visit

- Measures engagement
- A specific number of pages or screens a user views
- Triggered when a user sees more or fewer pages or screens than a specific threshold
- Example: You want to track people who visited more than three pages or ou want to track people who visited less than 5 screens”
Event

- Measures conversions and is used when a behavior does not load a new page
- Triggered when a user does something specific
- Example: Starting a video, downloading a file, clicking on a social media icon
