Building Credibility On Your Blog

Credibility is something every person who owns a website longs for. It is what sets apart a website that is trusted and one that isn't. In this post, I will tell you the steps of becoming and looking like a credible source on the interweb.

1. Pick a topic that you are most interested in and similar with

The knowledge you have and the sense of interest will show through your work. Remember though just because you are interested and knowledgeable does not mean your audience wants to hear about it. You must find a way to connect the concept and audience together. The fact that you do have an interest will allow you to continue with your blog and find ways to resolve your hurdles.

2. Posting information that is relevant

You can use tricks like looking at Google AdWord to see what people are searching for and what they are interested in. This will then help you structure your blog post. Using tags, hashtags, and words within your blog will attract a bigger audience.

3. Post consistently

Having a schedule to allow you to post at certain times on the blog will show that your website is, so to speak, alive and well. If your audience clicks onto your blog and your latest post was three months, even three weeks, then they will feel your information is outdated and you are not a reliable source.

4.Respond to comments and questions

Comments and questions are your connection to your audience. If you don't pursue interactivity your audience then you are losing the connection and therefore, lose credibility. This will definitely be relevant for start-up blogs.

5.Create a community

Reaching out to fellow bloggers within your industry is good for your credibility when writing your blogs. By connecting it allows you and other bloggers to link your work and theirs within a blog post. This gives your reader that you stay in the loop with current trends and opinions of others.

6.Provide an "About" page

In an about page you can tell your audience as much as you want about you and what your planning to do with your blog. This can establish you as a writer and help you connect to an audience on a more personal level.
