What are SMART Goals?

Are you ready to REACH your goals?

SMART goals are an established tool used to plan and achieve your goals. These five categories are used to ensure your goals are focused on what's most important for your company.

S = SPECIFIC

Ask yourself, what exactly do you want to achieve? Good goals are clear and distinct.

Example: I'm going to sign up five new clients.

A = ACHIEVABLE
You need to make sure your goals are attainable. After you determine your measurement, you need to ask yourself if the measurement is realistic for your company. Example: Signing up five new clients is an achievable, realistic goal.
T = TIME-BOUND

You need to set an end-date or time frame of achieving your goal to keep you on track.

Example: I'm going to sign up five new clients by the end of the month.

M = MEASURABLE

Once you have your specific goal, you need to provide a way to evaluate it by using metrics or data.

Example: I could have just said "I'm going to sign up new clients", but I stated I am going to sign up five new clients; this added a measurement in order to track progress on my goal.

R = RELEVANT

You need to make sure your goal is relevant to your overall business plan.

Example: If your business' plan is to increase profitability, looking for new clients may not be the best decision. Perhaps, focusing on retention of existing customers would be a more relevant goal.

  1. Love the format and design! Simple and clean color scheme. Adding the philosophical quote at the end definitely increased the blog style vibe rather than just another assignment. Great job giving examples to support your content as well.

  2. Great graphics! They all work very well together! I also like the pictures you chose, it overall looks very visually appealing!
